I design websites for healers like you :)
My background is as a creative writer and journalist. I’ve won a lot of awards and even appeared on major network television shows. In my professional life, I’ve been in marketing since 2002, specifically content management, branding, and storytelling marketing (which includes local PR and social media). I have mostly specialized in building and managing marketing departments for small companies since 2008, and with this, I have mastered almost all creative aspects of small companies.
When attending my Master Teacher class in August 2019 with acclaimed teacher, healer and mentor Maureen Spencer, she suggested building simple sites for people to launch their reiki/yoga businesses, and I immediately loved the idea. Finally, I’d be able to put all those years of marketing experience into helping others help others! Truly…is there anything better than that?
How we begin:
1. Go to GoDaddy to secure your domain name.
2. Start thinking about your text and collect your best photos.
It’s so easy!
Don’t know how to write? I’m a writer! I can write your text for $50/hour. I write fast, and will work with you. I used to work as a ghostwriter in the self/help industry, so I know all about how to help emulate your voice and tell your story. But truly, if you write from the heart it’ll be good enough.
Don’t have photos you like? Well, lucky you—I’ve been studying photography since childhood, specializing in portraits and headshots. It’s a service I’ve used again and again for marketing management. Head over to my photography siteto see if those services appeal to you. If not, a selfie will do just fine for now! You just need something you feel good about that shows the real you.
Now…your website. Your site is your calling card, and it’s near impossible to conduct business of any kind these days without one. A simple site will do just fine when you’re first starting out. I do not code, but I use template systems from Squarespace. I like Squarespace because they have a design edge and a great reputation for service.GoDaddyis a little bit cheaper, though not much, so check out their templates and let me know if there’s something there you like.
For websites, I charge $150 for a one-page site. A one-page site is a landing page where all the info is right there. You cannot click on anything to take you to another page—that would be another charge. Each additional page is $50. Each page includes your text, photo and video input, and setting up your domain.
When you use Squarespace and GoDaddy, your site is hosted through them, and you pay for the year. The $150 aforementioned fee includes 3 small changes to your site (text, photo adjustments, etc.). After that, changes are pro-rated at $50/hour.
The fees I’ve stated here are only for my design. They do not include your fees for web services through the providers.
Here’s a sample of one of my designs: www.veronicashaffer.com.
Let me know if I can help you share your magic with the world! I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation, and would be so happy to exchange emails with you. If this isn’t the right time…I hope we cross paths some day soon, anyway!
